Description
Lead Front End Developer to work on the Lynx Desktop Framework which is a next generation editorial desktop currently deployed to 3000 Thomson Reuters journalists and editors across the globe.
The Lynx project includes delivering to Editorial a refresh in news production, multi-media packaging and publishing capabilities. These capabilities are technology enablers for the Editorial vision to provide the world's most reliable, accurate and insightful news.
The system is architected as a set of loosely coupled components and services within an n-tier architecture and this person will work closely with editorial domain experts and other technology team members on an iterative design and implementation lifecycle to deliver Front End components and services that will seamlessly integrate into an overall editorial workflow solution.
Responsibilities will consist of:
- Requirements analysis.
- Create software design specifications including class diagrams and sequence diagrams.
- Participation in architectural discussions and reviews.
- Estimating work effort.
- Building UI components and application services according to defined requirements and design specifications.
- Collaboration with editorial domain leads, project managers, architects and other development teams.
- Participate in daily standups to review project status.

Qualifications
Education:
BS in computer science or equivalent. MS degree would be desired.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years software development experience.
- 3+ years experience in WPF, C#, .NET development (recent experience).
- Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills
- Strong OOAD skills, expertise with design patterns including UML.
- Comfortable in hands-on role developing in WPF, .NET and C#.
- Previous experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) - SOAP web services
- Must have strong experience with the following technologies: C#, WPF, Javascript, .NET, XML
- Team player, ability to work in global environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in the use of agile processes and test driven development a plus.
- Previous experience with MVC architecture.
- IOS/Mobile application development
- Knowledge of NewsML
- XAML
