Job Description:
The Sales Development Manager's main responsibility is to support the Sales team by developing creative integrated solutions for advertisers. This position is responsible for program development across all platforms and for working directly with the Sales, Product & Platform Innovation and Sales Development teams to conceptualize, develop and execute programs for advertising clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all New York Times assets and leverage these in our sales efforts.
- Construct creative integrated programs for clients, including original proposal writing and mock-up creation.
- Articulate coherent and relevant RFP responses in a timely manner.
- Liase with sales teams and serve as a resource for information about products across all platforms: digital, print, mobile, events, etc.
- Work with any relevant areas of the organization in the development of programs that are strategically grounded in the needs of the client and create any needed materials to support the sales process.
- Work with the assigned team(s) and Account Manager(s) to manage and monitor the successful execution of any sold programs and the post-mortem evaluation of the effectiveness of the program.
- Manage promotional aspects of assigned categories when relevant.
EXPERIENCE
- BA or BS required.
- 3 - 5 years of Marketing and/or Sales Development experience.
- Experience in working in collaborative sales processes, including the interaction required in cross-disciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of how to translate the long-term business objectives of advertisers into solutions.
- Dynamic team building, leadership and public speaking skills required
- Strong writing and Powerpoint skills a must.
