Description:

VWR Education is seeking a Brand Marketing Associate to help drive the overall success of our Science Education family of brands. In this entry to intermediate-level marketing role, the Brand Marketing Associate will work closely with the Manager of Brand Marketing and all other functional areas within the marketing team to develop and execute on a multi-channel marketing plan. In this position, the qualified candidate will provide primary support to the Manager of Brand Marketing. This position is primarily tactical in nature, but will require some level of strategic thinking in order to assist with the development of new marketing plans.

Job Responsibilities:

- Tactical Marketing Responsibilities:
- Execution of marketing plans between design, e-commerce, bid team and other relevant functional areas
- Execution of regular, planned marketing pieces (box stuffers, etc)
- Provides support for regional marketing execution when needed
- Proofreads marketing materials
- Tracks promotions
- Works with data analyst to request needed information in order to develop strategic plans

- Strategic Marketing Responsibilities:
- Overall development of multi-channel promotional plan for strategic market segments and/or assigned brands
- Identifies, develops, and executes marketing opportunities (in addition to the assigned above) in conjunction with the Marketing Manager
- Provides reporting and analysis for marketing projects
- Tracks promotions and analyzes results
- Develops a distinct brand strategy for execution across all tradeshows

- Logistical Coordination of Marketing Events:
- Provides recommendations to the sales team with regards to trade show marketing and product offering
- Coordination of local marketing events (teacher events, local shows, etc)
- Coordination of customer advisory boards - responsible for organization and recruitment of teachers
- Performs other duties as assigned

Experience & Skills:

- Organization Skills: Able to prioritize work to be able to successfully complete multiple tasks within expected time frames.
- Strong Decision Making Skills: Gathering of relevant facts, strong questioning skills, and willingness to make decisions are critical in this position.
- Analytical Skills: Many of the decisions made in this position are dependent upon being able to analyze sales trends, market information, and projections based on past results.
- Automation Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word.
- Communication Skills: With responsibility across all brands and the requirement to work with multiple functional areas, it is critical that this position posses strong communication skills in order to operate effectively.
- Market Knowledge: In order to effectively perform all job tasks, one must possess a strong knowledge of the educational market. This knowledge can be acquired through on-the-job experience or specialized training.

Qualifications:

- 4-year Business Degree with a specialization in Marketing preferred.
- 1-3 years of entry-level marketing experience preferred.
- Science and/or education experience a plus.
