Contract Tech Writer needed for growing consulting practice. Technical Writer We specialize in offering technology solutions and consulting across multiple industries. We offer a broad range of services and expertise in custom enterprise software engineering, systems implementations, integrations, information security, hardware infrastructure, Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption Planning and more. We are currently looking for a Sr. Tech Writer.
The Senior Technical Writer will produce online and written material for software products that will be used by end users and system maintenance users. This job will interface with project managers, software developers, business analysts, trainers, and customer implementation managers in order to deliver the online help, installation & configuration guides, maintenance guides, training materials, and end user material that will assist end users with the use of our product.
Sr. Tech Writer will be responsible for the following:
-Create, update and maintain online help and printed material that align with industry standards for formatting and ease of use. This will include development and use of a writers†desktop reference (WDR) for consistency within the online help.
-Create, update and maintain recorded training videos to support key end-user processes, to augment printed and online documentation.
-Develop project plans to map out effective product documentation to coincide with product release schedules.
-Work with the product development team to write new product training supplements and announcements of new product features.
-Other assigned responsibilities as required.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
-Minimum of 7 years professional technical writing experience (Must be able to show work product samples).
-Knowledge of IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers).
-Solid knowledge of and experience implementing a documentation process from design to commercial release.
-Working knowledge of technical software for publishing online (eg Content Management System or online help system). This includes proficiency in publishing content for web sites, marketing materials, and training documents.
-Experience developing self-service training video content using technical tools that use screen video capture and basic editing features.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Outstanding attention to detail and quality in producing the finished product
-Experience with implementing and maintaining On-Line Help systems (eg Robo Help software.
-Excellent creative and technical writing, editing and coordination skills.
-Ability to work independently, utilizing stated objectives to personally drive the documentation and delivery process to meet objectives.
-Knowledge of leading documentation tools and documentation delivery options, with experience in preparing online and print documentation for users of software products. RE-CNTCWRT13, CyberCoders
