Job Title: Manager, Software Services
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
This role will be responsible for day-to-day management of the IT Back End software solutions deployed at Hasbro and verifying their proper function. It will provide management direction for daily operations of these critical functions (SAP, databases, job scheduling), providing oversight on projects involving these areas, and establishing roadmaps for SAP infrastructure, Database, and System Software across the enterprise. This individual will work with all other managers and directors in Infrastructure and Operations to ensure operational excellence and adherence to service levels. This director will work collaboratively with other global regions to ensure adherence to consistent standards for infrastructure software and tools.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILTIES:
Day to day Management of SAP Basis Administration, Database Administration, and Production Control Teams:
- Support the design and delivery of SAP technology components, DBA solutions, and job scheduling capabilities to meet business requirements
- Ensure proper operations of software solutions deployed at Hasbro
- Work with SAP and hardware/software vendors to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Provided escalation point for on-call support
- Responsible for maintaining disaster recovery and high availability environments for all tier-1 Hasbro systems
- Support internal and external audits application
- Ensure the software solutions deployed are performing at optimal levels and aid in performance tuning of deployed solutions
- Participate in the design, build and support of new and existing software solutions and interfacing applications
- Establish documentation of all deployed solutions
- Ensure all solutions are properly tested prior to being deployed
- Review proposed application changes and ensur proper coverage, detailed plans, communications, backout plans, etc. are being developed
- Develop standards for the software teams to ensure consistent delivery of all solutions
- Develop reference architectures and standard solutions for delivery
- Ensure all applications are operating at the highest level of quality and performance
- Provide daily management oversight for activities of the Enterprise Database Team, SAP Basis Team, and Production Control teams
Develop strategic roadmaps and plans for future:
- Establish the technical direction for software solutions to be deployed at Hasbro
- Understand application end-of-life timetables and Maintain schedule for application updates, upgrades, and refreshes to maintain supportability
- Work with business partners to understand business goals and plans to ensure infrastructure strategy is properly aligned with business objectives
- Ensure team goals are in alignment with IT long term strategic objectives
- Deliver new features and capabilities to the business
- Develop world class practices and operating procedures
Relationship Management
- Manage relationships with other teams and peers
- Work with internal customers and requesting organizations to understand incidents and ensure quality service is provided
- Manage problems
- Provide estimates for project requests
- Manage expectations and help prioritize production support and multiple parallel projects across disparate organizations
- Communication with senior management and project magement on plans, status, risks and issues
Vendor Management
- Manages vendor relationships
- Manage open vendor incidents to ensure timely resolution, root cause analysis, and defect elimination plans
- driving vendor negotiations to maximize contract value and minimize cost
Attract, retain, and develop team members
- Hire and lead world class talent for the Basis, DBA, and Production Control teams
- Continually develop team members capabilities and skills
- Establish and manage career development plan for direct reports
- Provide ongoing support and feedback to team members and conduct annual performance evaluations
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Strong leadership skills in Infrastructure and Operations
- SAP Basis experience
- Experience with supporting global SAP deployments. Experience driving solution delivery across a large, global, multi-region footprint
- Experience managing according to ITIL frameworks, standards and governance.
- Experience supporting a large database installation and operations on either SQL Server, DB2, or Oracle
- Previous experience as a hands-on DBA preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience leading operational teams in a large global organization
- Proven ability to design an infrastructure capabilities roadmap and business process reengineering
- Project Management
- Leadership and team building experience
- Experience with Industry standards like ITIL and experience driving industry standard processes ie Incident management, Problem Management.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering or related business field.
- MBA and/or MS in Computer Science or related field is desirable
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in relevant technology field
- Minimum of 4 years experience supporting very large installations of SAP
- Experience with SAP performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience with Database support and performance tuning and troubleshooting
