Senior Business Analyst - Permanent

Yoh has a direct hire opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join our client in Philadelphia, PA.

Job Overview:

This role will work with the Business Relationship Manager to manage the intake of requests for IT support from the various business units. This role will work with business leaders to solicit, analyze, and document business needs. This role will work with the architects and system leads to facilitate the development of solution concepts, to evaluate the feasibility/cost benefit of those solutions, and to plan the execution of work.

The candidate will need to have a firm understanding of the Commercial and Specialty Lines insurance industry, requirement gathering techniques, and project planning. The candidate will need to be skilled in interacting with multiple levels of management/leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

- Eliciting, analysing, and documenting high-level business requirements
- Analyzing the feasibility and cost benefit of potential solution options
- Creating SDLC artifacts including initial project plans
- Managing communications between IT and business for assigned work

Job Qualifications:

- Bachelor Degree (preferably in MIS, IT, or Business)
- Ten (10) plus years of hands on analysis and documentation of requirements
- Strong interviewing skills in order to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential business problems and potential solutions
- Strong analytical and conceptualization skills in order to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose business information into high-level requirements
- Strong writing skills to represent information in graphical/visual as well as textual format to all levels of business and IT staff
- Extensive experience with the software development life cycle
- Extensive experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as business owners, project management, and software development)
- Insurance domain knowledge in Commercial and Specialty Lines, to have credibility with user representatives and be able to work effectively with them

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

- Project management skills are a plus
