Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a group of 7-12 research staff focused on the development of novel and innovative therapies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The candidate is expected to lead their own research projects as well as oversee target identification/validation projects and drug development programs with ultimate goal of building an innovative and robust portfolio for clinical development. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1- Supervise PhD and technical staff with extensive scientific knowledge; 2- provide technical and scientific direction to multi-disciplinary research teams; 3- prepare, review and deliver scientific presentations to internal and external stakeholders; 4- interact with senior management and key opinion leaders; 5- establish collaborations and maintain scientific presence by publishing in internationally-recognized journals; 6- participate in business development activities.

Qualifications

Seeking highly motivated and experienced leader with at least 15 years of experience in the areas of autoimmunity and inflammation. Proven track record in development of biologic or small molecule drug candidates is preferred. Deep understanding of Immunology and extensive publication and collaborative expertise is required. Hands-on and management experience developing cell-based, ex vivo and translational immune assays is needed. Experience in managing and developing a senior team of research staff is also required. Other qualifications include direct expertise with preclinical validation of targets and evaluation of immunotherapies; as well as ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex scientific data sets to peers and senior management. Good balance of analytical and creative skills with track record of collaborating and working within multi-disciplinary teams. Industry experience a plus.
