The Global Migration U.S. Immigration team in Microsoft's Legal & Corporate Affairs (LCA) division supports foreign national employees and their family members through the U.S. immigration process. With one of the highest volume transactional practices in LCA, the Global Migration U.S. Immigration team has an immediate opening for an experienced Lead Immigration Program Manager (PM) who will be responsible for managing core work streams within the Global Migration business, deploying new programs, overseeing & implementing work practice efficiencies & streamlining current processes related to U.S. immigration filings. This position will be accountable to know, understand and own the core operational issues related to U.S. immigration filings and provide strong operational guidance and support to Microsoft's Assistant General Counsel responsible for U.S. Immigration. The ideal candidate will bring the rigors of continuous process improvement into existing work streams. He/She will be the central point for business analysis relating to metrics, process health and data integrity. A key component to success will be strong collaboration with our Global Migration attorneys, paralegals and program managers.

Responsibilities include:
Delivery Management: Provide communication and coordination w/multiple SMEs & providers to ensure work streams are running effectively & efficiently across tens of thousands of transactions annually. Drive consistency in processes and services to align with defined policies and procedures and meet performance expectations for consistency, accuracy and timeliness of delivery. Develop plans for delivery that mitigate risk and optimizes the balance of scope, cost, time, quality, and resources, and improve customer or partner capability. Ensure cross-team visibility to delivery issues & ETA for resolution and quality of work by auditing/error reporting ongoing work-streams and transactional surveys.

Case Work: Working under the supervision of an attorney, perform intake, troubleshoot and establish case strategy; draft and review petitions; communicate regularly with employees, team members and attorneys regarding procedural and case processing issues, update, manage and run status reports, monitor cases.

- People management: Manage, lead and develop a team of program managers responsible for specific work streams by effectively planning and prioritizing team's work, communicating business strategy and how work aligns to broader goals, holding team and individuals accountable for results, and encouraging and recognizing collaborative behavior across the team.
Customer, Partner & Business Value: Work with SME's to provide accurate forecasts of filings/volume and develop and ensure that the right reporting tools are available to regularly track progress against commitments. Use metrics to identify trends and influences across multiple work streams. Gather and share information to develop a broad understanding of customers, partners, and internal needs, drivers, and decision-making processes. Coach team members on ways to use this information to strategize and highlight priorities and decisions that improve satisfaction, performance and experience.

Operational excellence: Identify the metrics that have the most impact on the business and make recommendations to influence those metrics; manage prioritization, implementation & execution of operations, policies & processes aimed at achieving continuous process improvement; use organizational knowledge & agility to proactively coordinate and integrate scope change initiatives for programs; take appropriate action on gaps & redundancies across disciplines & escalates to senior management re: issues as appropriate to ensure legal compliance; create & deliver training materials pertaining to policies and procedures.

Qualifications incl.: Candidates should have a bachelor's degree & at least 10 years of experience in a senior level capacity with a corporate immigration law firm, department, or corporate immigration function. Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. People management experience required. Experience working in an INSZoom system preferred. Must have working knowledge of international business practices as well as ability to work across cultures effectively, valuing diversity within virtual teams. Candidate must also have the ability to work both independently & as a member of our team and to effectively prioritize to meet deadlines; along with an ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast paced environment and communicate clearly and directly with internal & external contacts at all levels.
