The software, hardware, and services developed by the Windows Division are designed to empower individuals, companies, and organizations by simplifying everyday tasks and delivering new improvements in how people learn, work, play and interact with one another. As it works to evolve Windows, the Windows Division relies on the active, creative and professional legal advice provided by the Windows group within Microsoft's legal department. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated paralegal to join our team at Microsoft's global headquarters near Seattle, Washington, to help the Windows Division bring its vision to reality.

Primary Duties:

Provide legal advice to clients and help design creative solutions to complex issues with significant legal, business and technical dimensions
Advise clients on a broad range of topics, which may include intellectual property and licensing, general commercial and consumer law, contract interpretation, and antitrust and regulatory compliance
Draft and negotiate legal agreements, which may include development and licensing agreements
Perform legal research and work closely with outside counsel, as needed
Engage with various levels of Microsoft managers and employees, as well as outside partners, customers, and vendors
Partner with attorneys and paralegals across the department and around the world to provide comprehensive legal solutions to internal clients
Manage projects

We are looking for an experienced paralegal with:

A minimum of a two year college degree or paralegal certificate -- four year degree or relevant work experience strongly preferred
At least 5 years of demonstrated legal work experience
In-house legal experience is a plus
Outstanding communication skills
Keen business sense, with the ability to find creative business-oriented solutions to legal issues
The ability to balance legal risks against business interests
Strong results orientation with a dedicated client focus
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently while also being a strong collaborator
Desire to work with diverse internal groups, teams, divisions, and cultures
Passion for technology
Prior experience working for a software technology company is a plus
