SUMMARY
The Microsoft Store's Retail Technology Group is a unified multi-channel Retail Technology organization, which showcases Microsoft technology by transforming the Windows PC, Software, Gaming, and Mobile device buying experience. We are responsible for the agile delivery of innovative, multi-channel solutions for the Microsoft Retail Stores including our Online and physical Brick and Mortar locations. With the recent releases of Windows 8 and Phone 8, the Microsoft store has become the center of attention for the company's consumer sales efforts. And, we have exciting plans to make a great splash with new launches this year!
The Microsoft Retail Technology Group is looking for a highly motivated Program Manager to help drive our store associate experience from planning, development, through release of our applications and services. As the program manager you will help drive the technical vision for the tools and services that our sales associates use in the stores every day. The qualified candidate will work with all disciplines to construct and manage an overall project schedule while minimizing risks and ensuring an on-time quality release.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Identify and track key metrics critical to project success
-Track & communicate project risks. Build & execute on the technical strategy
-Communicate schedule and status as it applies to the team
-Solve hard problems that span technology, development models, testing, and other areas
-Drive technical vision for applications that improve the sales associate experience in our retail stores
-Help resolve critical cross-group technical or project issues as they impact the release
-Build effective relationships with engineering leaders, associates in the retail stores, and our business/marketing partners
QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
-At least 4 years of experience in a PM capacity
-Great communication skills (verbal and written)
-Ability to collaborate, openly communicate, present and negotiate effectively across disciplines and groups, with vendors and with partner teams
-Demonstrated experience delivering results in an ambiguous and changing environment, the ability to work independently and be a self-starter
-Strong customer focus
-Sound decision-making skills in dealing multiple competing priorities
-A passion to learn new technologies
-Great project planning and management skills
