A rare position that combines a program management role with frontline legal support opportunities has opened up in the Products & Services Group within Microsoft's legal department. We are heading in a new, exciting direction and need your help!
The Program Manager role will focus on program management, escalation resolution, and business process management for supporting key Microsoft initiatives with strategic partners, as well as on designing the next-generation information-sharing and collaboration platforms for such initiatives. This role will also team with an attorney to provide frontline legal support and subject-matter expertise to the broader LCA community on Microsoft's relationships with such key partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, redesign, and ongoing oversight of contract management processes, information-sharing and collaboration tools, contract templates, and best-practice documentation.
Act as the primary legal escalation point for the contract processing team and/or business lead, helping to ensure that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly and working directly with counterparts for key partners.
Advise clients and colleagues in the legal department on a broad range of topics, which may include intellectual property and licensing, non-disclosure agreements, and contract interpretation.
Partner with attorneys and paralegals across the department to provide comprehensive legal solutions to internal clients and external partners.
Act as trusted advisor to a senior cross-company organization to help facilitate interdisciplinary alignment on collaboration around business-critical IP issues.
Qualifications:
Strong collaboration skills, and a passion for user-experience and technology.
Strong intellectual curiosity.
BS or BA degree required. Advanced degree in business, contract management or law preferred.
Uncompromising integrity and a One Microsoft perspective.
Minimum of 4 years in contract management or program management required.
Experience in the legal contracts required.
Able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills.
Excellent project management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Solid negotiation skills are a plus.
Proficiency in SharePoint or, at a minimum, a strong willingness to learn.
Strong results orientation with a dedicated client focus.
