This position is an opportunity to learn, build and implement effective online presence for Microsoft's STB business. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-impact professional to drive the vision for key portions of the global customer experience online. The site manager is responsible for understanding customer needs, Microsoft's business and marketing strategies, and the latest web innovations to ensure our most important customers have access to the resources they need to be effective with Microsoft technology.

The site manager is responsible for facilitating and driving the business of one or more sections of the web site, and directing the ongoing development of sites that help customers find the information they need. You will work with a variety of internal stakeholders, field, engineering teams, & business groups to drive reach, engagement, satisfaction & customer effectiveness. You'll drive impact through analysis of customer behavior, web trends, project management of web deliverables, and relationships with user assistance, product and marketing groups, vendors, and other functional teams.

Responsibilities:
Manage and drive worldwide publishing. Own WW site operations, which includes working with subsidiaries on the rollout of local sites, managing the localization vendor and overview the rollout of all international sites.
Drive the site editorial calendar, facilitate the continuous publishing model, and develop plans for editorial programming that provide a coherent customer experience and solid ROI.
Act as the coordinating hub for defining content and programming plans, working closely with the content team, marketing, PR, CSS, product groups, and other stakeholders.
Ensure plans and actions are laser-focused on the customer to ensure a culturally appropriate, task-driven web experience that addresses both customer and business objectives.
Use metric analysis, usability studies, and direct customer contact to respond to customer and business needs and optimize the experience on the site. Own and send status reports.
Manage production and localization vendor teams and budgets.
Network with other MS web properties to grow the STB sphere of influence.

Qualifications and skills. The ideal candidate:
3-5+ years of experience managing, designing, or maintaining websites, and some localization and editorial or content management background.
Experience with web metrics analysis and principles
Affinity for working in a highly collaborative online-publishing environment and will take initiative in that context.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Excellent research skills, with very strong competencies and passion for analyzing and organizing information.
Demonstrated ability to manage content-related tasks according to editorial and business standards, manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and work effectively under deadline pressure in publishing environments that have short lead times and a strong customer focus.
Positive track record of working effectively and collaboratively with editors and producers, as well as with product and marketing teams.
Established experience managing vendors and tracking budgets.
BA/BS in Marketing, Computer Science, Journalism, Information Management, or related discipline.
