Description:
The scope for the AF/A1 SOA Project includes requirement analysis, design, development, testing, fielding, sustainment and Tier 3 (developmental and operational) support for a library of web services to support the AF/A1 Human Resources (HR) Information Technology (IT) portfolio.
This is a contingent position pending award second quarter of 2013. The organization will consist of a wide range of professionals from various organizations working as a virtual team.
The web services will implement standards-based (AF, DoD, and Industry) security models, use standards-based (AF, DoD, and Industry) communication protocols and be registered in a domain registry, discoverable by enterprise users. Web services as mentioned herein referrers to SOAP/HTTPS web services and will include:
1. Data Web Services - Web services that expose approximately 2200 Military data elements and 1000 Civilian data elements from their respective data sources, primarily a database [key data sources in the AF Human Resource (HR) domain include the Military Personnel Data System (MilPDS) and the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS)], based on a pre-defined ontology,
2. Aggregation Web Services - Web services that provide more elaborate capability by calling 2 or more data web services (ie Career Brief/Single Unit Retrieval Format (SURF), Performance Evaluation web services, etc.),
3. Infrastructure Web Services - General utility type web services (ie logging, auditing, conversion web services, etc), and
4. Sustainment - resolve and deploy defects, minor changes/enhancements and inventory of the AF/A1 web services portfolio, provide Tier 3 Helpdesk support (on-call support) and provide Metadata Environment (MDE, ie Registry/Repository) entry & administration for all web services developed through this or external contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Design, development and execution of test plans and scripts for web services
- Execution of unit and integrated testing
- Identification and resolution tracking of product defects
- Support of analysis and issue resolution for any reported defects
Qualifications:
- Experience developing and executing test strategies for web services based on SOAP/HTTPS approach.
- Ability to apply intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues.
- Work on problems/projects of moderately complex scope.
- Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action.
- Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information
- Follows established guidelines and interprets policies.
- Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.
Desired Skills and Education
A Bachelors degree and up to 2 years of related experience.
Experience with Quality Center and its use in testing web services
