The Trade Finance Advisor will be reporting directly to the Director-Trade Finance Manager to provide a link between the client and the bank on their trade finance transaction delivery needs.

The responsibilities include but not limited to:

. Manage the communication and work with clients on their letters of credit issuance application requirements and needs

. Provide, negotiate and manage trade finance documentation with clients and related parties

. Review letter of credit and related credit applications and comment where necessary to make sure that operationally facilities make sense and are fit for purpose and workable

. Manage the internal credit process and approvals in partnership with the relationship teams, credit and bank operations

. Drive and manage the authentication and verification of client electronic signatures on applications and other required documents

. Ensure all appropriate approvals are in place for clients and bank facilities

. Manage and monitor collaterals related to trade finance products that necessitates credit endorsement

. Work with relationship teams and bank operations groups to resolve rejected auto-extension transactions

. Manage various trade finance product forms and client documentation processes

. Respond to front office questions and requests as well as providing periodic product information updates

. Build and develop relationships with various internal teams and clients

. Liase with key stakeholders within the bank such as legal, compliance, back and front offices to ensure the smooth running of trade finance transactions for issuance and amendment delivery

. Advise client on trade finance transaction documentation structures and provide value added services

. Overseas the implementation of service agreements and requirements forged with the clients within the unit to ensure trade finance staff are aware of their obligations

. Provide a superior client experience on their trade finance transactions

. Look to actively develop relationships with all clients including setting up client facing meetings and be recognized as the escalation main point of contact

. Work with a wide variety of internal and external counterparties to ensure timely identification of issues and their resolutions

. Partner with relationship teams to help change client behavior where valuable to remove manual processes and substitute automation

. Monitor the trade finance client service mailbox and respond to inquiries and investigations

. Point of escalation for clients on any internal or external issues raised to the trade finance team

. Actively track the commercial trade flows and infrastructure development of the client and assist trade finance management in identifying new business opportunities with an entrepreneurial perspective

. Make recommendations to trade finance team management to improve the efficiency of trade finance products and services delivery as well as per customer/market requirements

. Ensure compliance regulations are followed accurately and may be required to actively participate in the KYC/CIP processes to facilitate the client's trade finance transactions

Skills and Requirements: Skills & Requirements

. Strong financial service or banking background ( 3-5 years preferred)

. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

. Good Microsoft skills including Excel, Word and Outlook

. Self-starters with high motivation who are proactive rather than reactive

. Ability to work independently to meet daily deadlines

. Excellent planning and organization skills

. Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills

. Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks

. Customer-focused and experienced with excellent interpersonal skills

. Ability to demonstrate concern for satisfying external and/or internal customers

. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to express oneself clearly in conversations, in interactions with others and in business writing

. Proven ability to meet new challenges, assimilate new information and to influence people through maturity and professionalism of approach

. Proven ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team
