Job Summary

The Special Projects team is building next-generation technologies that will shape our future. We are looking for an senior engineer help develop a robust ecosystem of services and tools that will be the foundation of all pipeline applications and data processing services. Specifically you will develop core service solutions that will enable the seamless transitioning of over 5PB per day of data through various states like ingestion, indexing/mining, transformation and validation. Leveraging your ecosystem (in the spirit of eating your own dogfood), you will also help build meta-data and data management services.

Key Qualifications

. Develop a core services ecosystem that will be leveraged cross-functionally by the rest of data pipeline.* Develop a state and event management system to support dynamic data flows.* Develop common frameworks for standard service features such as logging, configuration, inter service communication, monitoring, I/O etc.. Develop ETL plugins that will enable researches and other developers to submit and run extract and transform processes on big data easily.* Work on cross-functional initiatives that will align the team towards commonly used technologies and methodologies.


. 3 years of industry experience Experience with object-oriented design for Real Time data Experience in building large scale real-world Back End and middle-tier web services in Java, Python or C++ Experience in network programming and distributed systems Experience in large scale data processing Strong problem solving and debugging skills Understanding of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, Kafka, Flume, and Redis Familiar with agile programming techniques including pair programming, test-driven development, and continuous integration
