Do you want to help shape the future of Mapping Frameworks for Apple? Are you looking to contribute to the foundation at the core of the positioning-based experiences found on iPhone, iPad, and WATCH?As an Engineer working on the Maps Client Navigation team, your primary responsibility will be to continue to build and push the envelope on our positioning-based frameworks in maps. You'll be working closely with the Maps Client & Server team, other teams at Apple to innovate and produce a best-in-class guidance experience.The ideal candidate will have Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) experience in the development and integration of GNC algorithms. To meet these demands, you'll need to be a fantastic C/C++/ObjC developer, be able to debug with great proficiency, and ready to implement the latest map matching algorithms on one of the most impact-full product in the world. Maps frameworks are supported on multiple platforms (iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS), so understanding and developing shared codebases between different operating systems is a must.

MS or PHD in one of Computer Science, Electric Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math or Physics

. Strong stochastic background (including state space modeling and sensor fusion).* Experienced at solving Hidden Markov Models including Monte Carlo algorithms.* Practical experience at solving data problems.* Solid software engineering background (testing, code review, code versioning, design)* Solid understanding of key computer science concepts (object-oriented programming, concurrency, threading, memory management)* Passion for product quality and attention to detail* Strong analytical and problem solving skillsDesirable Skills and Experience:* Experience working on a GNSS software stack.* Past experience building frameworks* Strong experience with Objective-C, XCode and with MRR and ARC, Embedded software constraints, and performance analysis
