Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting and performing a wide range of chemical and physical analyses on petro fuels and chemicals in Savannah, Georgia

Reporting to
Oil, Gas & Chemicals (OGC) Services, is a division of SGS, is the market leader in independent inspection, testing, verification and specialized technical services to the Oil, Gas and Chemical industries.

Specific responsibilities
- Perform all required testing on petro fuels, gasoline, and chemical samples.
- Assists in the setting up of laboratory equipment and/or instrumentation required for the analysis of samples and general upkeep and housekeeping of the Laboratory.
- Perform standardization of all solutions.
- Documents all activities and recordkeeping accordingly to SOP's.
- Pick up samples from various locations and bring them to assigned Laboratory, depending on location.
- Assist in all other laboratory assignments and projects.

Profile
- Laboratory Technicians are required to have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED) coupled with basic knowledge of chemistry (school)
- Chemist are required to have a college degree (science) with 6 months to 1 year experience in a Laboratory - wet bench.
- Must be able to work with all chemicals, petrochemicals petroleum, and be able to differentiate colors accurately by sight.
- Depending on location, position may require incumbent to work weekends, holiday or work a rotating shift, to meet business commitments.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure, while directing numerous projects concurrently with different deadlines.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
- Maintain current knowledge by attending seminars, lectures, meetings and professional conferences.
- Ability to gather and review resources and select and synthesize data for reports and other written materials.
- High level of accuracy is required, with special attention to details
