We are seeking a qualified Sr. Utility Consultant that will work in a team atmosphere and will be responsible for contributing to supporting and expanding our management consulting practice within our Energy Operation. The selected candidate will provide and lead a variety of detail oriented,
high-value and value-added analysis and consulting services to a variety of utility organizations, pertaining to the financial operation and management of those utilities.
Specific services include:
- Financial analysis and modelling for utilities including rate studies, cost-of-service analyses, impact fee analyses, retail rate design and economic analyses
- Depreciation studies, utility appraisal and valuation studies, and asset management evaluations
- Detailed spreadsheet modelling analysis of utility finances
- Debt and equity financing support
- Expert testimony and litigation support services
- Direct interaction with clients at a high management level, including interpersonal interaction and presentation of information
- Project management, including development of scope, schedule and budget
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in accounting, finance or engineering discipline required; M.S., M.B.A or M.P.A. or other advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience consulting with or for utilities.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and proven ability to communicate results orally and in writing
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel required
- Knowledge of MS Access/Database software a plus
- Background in financial analyses related to utility financing, valuation, planning, operations, and regulation
- Ability to work both independently and in a team atmosphere
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must have analytical aptitude and abilities and be detail oriented
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive internal and external projects to results.
