Description:

The BDR Division of SAIC is one of the nation's premier emergency management consultancies, providing all-hazards mitigation, emergency preparedness planning, disaster response and recovery, and grant management/long term recovery services for public and private sector clients across the United States.

BDR is hiring now for temporary Field Monitors in Sioux Falls, SD.

This position pays $11.00 per hour, plus overtime.

Field Monitor -
Debris Field Monitors will be responsible to validate the collection of debris from the public right-of-way. Employees in this position are the on-site monitor for the collection of debris. As a field monitor, you will observe disaster debris as it is loaded into hauling vehicles and document required information. Note: This position involves only monitoring cleanup - you will NOT need to participate in the physical cleanup of debris or supervise crews. Training provided.

Hours are generally 6 - 7 days a week, working 12 - 14 hr shifts.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Document work done by debris collection Contractors
- Filling out load tickets daily logs, incident reports, ticket log completely, accurately and legibly
- Key to community being reimbursed by FEMA
- Assure Contractors adhere to FEMA eligibility guidelines
- Direct crew to eligible material
- Route crew through zone efficiently
- Keep crew in assigned zone

Qualifications:
- Local candidates only.

- This position requires the use of a personal vehicle that is in good working condition, either one you own or one you have express permission to operate in conjunction with this employment. Proof of current valid auto registration is required to be maintained at all times.

- To have and maintain at all times auto liability insurance coverage with liability limits at least equal to the minimum liability limits required by the State in which the vehicle is registered. Proof of such auto liability insurance is required to be maintained at all times. Therefore, in order to be considered for employment, you must present us with a copy of the vehicle's current registration card, proof of current auto liability insurance, and your valid driver's license.

- This position also requires the use of your personal cell phone. Your phone must be operational.

- Qualified candidates must be able to work long days (12 hrs) and sometimes in inclement weather.

- Candidates with at least a High School diploma or the equivalent are preferred.
