Qualifications/Duties
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton is seeking a full time Clinical Educator Specialist MS. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications.
Master's degree in Nursing
Minimum 3 years clinical experience, 2 years staff development or adult education experience and/or demonstrated expertise.
Texas RN licensure, Professional Development Certification preferred; BLS Instructor
Women's & Infant services experience required ( antepartum, perinatal, postpartum, newborn/nicu)
Effective leadership & interpersonal communication skills; Verbal & written communication skills in English; Advanced knowledge of current professional nursing & health care issues.
Responsibilities:
Full time hours, Mon-Fri 8:00am -5:00pm or as needed
Utilizes current research and standards of practice to develop, analyze and coordinate a comprehensive plan of continuing education activities, including goals assessment, planning, implementation, needed resources, and evaluation methods to support hospital clinical goals.
Facilitates successful integration of employees into their work unit/hospital/THR system.
Functions as a consultant by collaborating with managers, staff, physicians, patients and other members of the healthcare team to identify, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions regarding specific issues.
Serves as resource and mentor to staff by providing advanced perspectives in critical thinking, decison making and problem solving. Implements change to improve patient outcomes & employee retention. Accepts additional duties as assigned
Assess, defines, and revises clinical competencies for Women's Services based on unit/division requirements, current standards of practice, and research findings.
Performs annual Needs assessment to detemrine learning needs within specilty areass and outpatient areas.
Aligns Educational activites with THDN strategic plan, and works as team member within the Education department.
Seeks opportunities to enhance the Patient Experience and Patient safety
Utilizes PI information looking for trends, and
Seeks input from directors, professional staff, and multidisciplinary teams, and THR entities to determine learning needs.
Education programs reflect current clinical and education research findings.
Educational activies reflect adult learning and education principles.
Evaluates process, outcome, impact, and cost effectiveness of educational activities.
