The selected Junior Network Engineer will have experience (within the last five years) with analyzing problems related to the videoconferencing infrastructure referred to Tier III problem management support, determining root causes, and developing methods to resolve and eliminate the identified problems. For time-critical problems, works under the direct supervision of high-level engineers to develop and recommend workarounds for interim implementation until the problem cause and resolution can be determined and mitigated. Assists the team in defining configuration changes needed to resolve problems and issues. Works with the security engineers to provide support to the GVS Program and ensure all cybersecurity requirements are compliant with all applicable DoD/DISA cybersecurity requirements, directives, regulations, and US Laws. Assists the cybersecurity team in maintaining the current GVS accreditation/authorization status. Provides support to the systems and software engineers as needed in their analysis and evaluation of Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts Alerts/Bulletins (IAVAs/IAVBs) for IP video systems and products. Provides support to ensure compliance with all COMSEC requirements. For changes required for problem resolution and for planned upgrades to operational IP video systems, tests and validates hardware and configuration changes in a laboratory environment and provides recommendations to the Senior Network Engineer for implementation. Develops change requests and ensures all recommended changes are submitted to the DISA Configuration Control Boards and approved before implementation.

Travel as needed within CONUS, OCONUS (Europe, PAC and SWA) as required.

Required Skills

Required IA Workforce Category and Level: IAT II

8570 IA Baseline Certification: Security+ CE or equivalent

8570 CE Certification: CCNA in routing and switching or equivalent certification.

Required Clearance: Secret with IT-1 eligibility
