You'll join the founding team in this highly strategic role, where your vision will be the driver in architecting elegant and effective solutions for our customers. Your expertise and leadership will be key in delivering "the experience" for buyers and sellers in our niche. You'll drive the creation of an exquisite user experience through intelligent development of rich user interfaces and supporting web services. Your creativity and innovation will be the change for this industry!
Our development process is Agile with an emphasis on individualism and pragmatism. We pair a lot, but not all the time. We test a lot, but not all the time. The key is being able to explain your practices with rational argument. Ultimately, we care more about building the best products we can, less so about being dogmatic about our process.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the development of high quality/stable code, recommend technology/process improvements
- Develop all the new features for our iOS apps
- Collaborate with the CTO and Head of product to make the best technical decisions and to deliver scalable mobile products
- Resolve the most complex issues - tackling technology blockers while weighing trade-offs
- Have a general understanding of mobile design patterns and be able to work closely with the UX team
- Play an active role defining the Back End API with the development team
- Build custom iOS components when frameworks just won't do
- Integrate testing framewor4ks within the code
What you'll need:
- 5+ years' experience and an impressive track record building mobile apps, and 2+ years' experience developing complex, testable native applications for iOS or Mac OS X
- Successfully released and maintained iPhone or iPad apps in the App Store
- Fluency with Objective-C required
- Fluent in core iOS technologies and design patterns, but able to apply some custom magic when appropriate.
- Experience with OpenGL, C++, networking libraries, or game development is certainly useful
- Knowledge of performance tools and optimization techniques
- Experience practicing Agile Methodologies
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Nice to have skills:
- Experience with Ruby
- Experience designing clean and maintainable APIs is a plus
