Sr. Security Engineer With Cloud Solutions Startup Sr. Security Engineer DC area startup looking for Sr. IT Security Engineer who will design, development, and implement IT security solutions for networks, systems, and applications for local government clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Ensure proper approved methods that meet security and PCI requirements within network architecture are submitted for changes to the Network.
-Performing analysis of network security needs and contributes to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
-Analyzing, connectivity requests to insure compliance with PCI, SOX and other policies.
-Serves as an internal information security consultant to the organization on current technologies, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
-Gather requirements from customer and architect secure network solution.
-Document computer security policies, procedures and provide alternative solutions to requests that violate policies.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Experience:
-Monitors compliance with information security policies and procedures and regulatory requirements (SOX/PCI).
-Audit and Compliance capabilities (to show compliance for OIG/PCI and AS805 hardening standards).
-Problem Solving - must be able to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems.
-Strong written and verbal communication, as well as organization and documentation skills.
-Cloud and/or Storage experience is a plus.
-Intimate knowledge with standard security and PCI best practices.
-Strong knowledge of networks and network topologies and protocols.
-Change management/tracking and monitoring.
-Vulnerability Mapping/Threat Modeling/Risk Assessment.
-Network Access Validation.
-Reporting for internal/external use and compliance.
-Device/vendor agnostic (needs to support Cisco, Juniper, Netscaler, etc.).
-Good written and verbal communication skills.
-Background working with financial systems preferred.
