Job Summary
The Application Developer, Master will be a technical lead for the design and construction of next generation UI, with a focus on technical framework and components. Responsible for supporting the strategy and development of existing business processes and goals by defining best practices for the organization, design, and engineering for leading-edge user interface. The Application Developer, Master is also tasked with managing other UI Developers.

Essential Functions
- Researches, designs, and develops technical UI frameworks using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development technologies
- Leads adoption of and adherence to UI development defined standards and techniques
- Supports and mentors UI Developers to share technical knowledge
- Constructs templates and components to support next generation interactions as required (touch, tap, swipe, etc.)
- Develops UI integration strategies for linking multiple websites and/or applications together
- Helps translates interaction designs into technical framework implementations and documentation as required
- Investigate and propose uses of new web technologies
- Build and maintain close, positive working relationships with all stakeholder groups and internal customers
- Build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of business processes and technical systems
- Demonstrate team leadership
Non-Project and Cross-Project Functions:
- Provide significant technical leadership and mentor others in general technical skills as well as Capital One applications and processes.
- Provide technical leadership into general architectural decisions and design stability.
- Provide technical leadership to assist in team and project process improvement.

Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications
- 5+ years of HTML and CSS experience
- 5+ years of experience with web standards and CSS-driven layouts
- Strong knowledge of AJAX, including DOM Scripting and object-oriented JavaScript coding
- Thorough understanding of cross-browser and platform compatibility issues
- Experience creating and maintaining relationships with business contacts
- Experience with prioritization of work
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Solid interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form
- Exceptional problem solving abilities
- Experience working on an agile team or with Scrum
