Summary
Key responsibilities include driving world class productivity through the distribution and logistics facilities and operations infrastructure. Assessing automation, ensuring the appropriate equipment is in place to support our business in the lowest cost and highest quality of service possible. Responsibilities will include assessment, analysis, recommendation, development and implementation of new equipment, systems, software, process and tools to drive world class productivity throughput in the distribution and logistics facility for Liberty (includes outside or third party facilities and infrastructure). Additional responsibilities include upkeep and maintenance of the buildings and grounds including maintenance and repair of motive and facility related equipment including forklifts, forklift batteries, automated distribution equipment, grounds, janitorial, facility security, pest control, fire protection systems, elevators, generators and facility repairs and all distribution systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
§ Fully assess the automation equipment currently in use (AGV's, Conveyor systems, Mini-Load, Small Order Flow Facilities, moving equipment, etc.) required to ensure the most productive infrastructure is in place to support our distribution and logistics needs.
§ Assess and improve process control and productivity metrics in each functional area working cross-functionally with the managers, leads, and supervisors in each functional area of the facility (including Front End process stakeholders such as planning, forecasting, sales, customer solutions, finance).
§ Review and assess process design for each functional operation in the distribution and logistics facility. Establish KPI's and metrics to track functional productivity, lead Kaizen efforts to improve productivity, throughput and lower costs while maintaining or improving quality of service.
§ Working with functional leaders in assessing current processes, and creating future state through process and systems re-design.
§ Maintain facilities including by not limited to HVAC, back-up generators, under and above ground fire system, electrical distribution points, automated distribution equipment, all utilities, compressors, janitorial and cleanliness of the facility, AGVs and automated wrapper.
§ Lead the development and capability improvement efforts for each functional area (people, process, and tools) in the distribution facility.
§ Develop and execute strategies to reduce overall distribution and logistics costs, improve quality and productivity and improve total cost productivity through the distribution center value chain.
§ Lead the efforts for organization design in the distribution facility working cross-functionally with the leadership team to build the organizational structure and capability of our supply chain services.
§ Responsible for contract management including contract renewal, update and service scheduling. This includes but is not limited to janitorial, security, vending, etc.
§ Create effective work schedules.
§ Responsible for testing and inspections required by NFPA and Risk Assessment Services through Masco.
§ Research and maintain facility modifications and efficiency improvements.
§ Assist with space and workplace planning, budgeting, and renovations.
§ Maintain ISecure card access and intrusion alarm systems.
§ Monitors metrics related to equipment downtime and budget.
§ Formulates and coordinates program specifications, Requirements for proposals and contracts, and associated documents.
§ Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance.
§ Maintain log of facility keys and owners.
Management Responsibilities
Directly supervises up to five employees in the Maintenance department, and any other assigned employees. Indirectly supervises fifteen to twenty contract employees. Must be able to drive cross functional collaboration to successfully execute process improvement intiatives. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
