Are you looking for a career where your work has a profound impact on upholding our nation's security?

The Defence Intelligence Organisation (DIO) assesses foreign military, political, social and cultural developments that affect the planning and conduct of Australian Defence Force operations. Our assessments cover a broad range of topics, including support to military operations; terrorism; regional security; foreign military capabilities; cyber threats; Defence-related technologies; political; economic; behavioral, geographic and thematic issues. The work is exciting and diverse and provides a unique opportunity to influence Defence policy and decision-making at the highest levels.

We're looking for people from a variety of backgrounds who can analyse information from a wide range of sources to provide timely, relevant advice to decision-makers. You will have strong research skills, clear and objective thinking processes, excellent communications skills, and thrive in a collaborative, team environment. As an APS4 entry level intelligence analyst joining our Intelligence Analyst Pathway, you will participate in a 12 month tailored learning and development program, where you will gain experience across the organisation during three x four month rotations before being permanently placed in one of our branches (which include South East Asia and Pacific, North Asia, Global Security, Weapons and Technical Intelligence, and Counter Proliferation and Terrorism). Your learning program will also include a range of formal and informal training activities delivered by our analytical tradecraft training professionals, participation in a mentoring program and a familiarisation tour of major interstate defence sites.
