ICT Director - Australian Bureau of Statistics (Permanent)

Location: Melbourne Country: Australia Rate: $124,537 - $143,964 per annum, + 15.4% superannuation
 

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has current vacancies for various ICT Director roles. The roles are across several branches in the Technology & Security Division (TSD) and will be located in our Canberra and Melbourne offices.

The salary range is $124,537 - $143,964 per annum, plus 15.4% superannuation.

This recruitment process is seeking to fill several existing roles across the Technology and Security Division, as well as any emerging opportunities in the next 12 months.

These existing roles include:
Cloud Applications and Analytics - Canberra location only
Continuous Testing, Integration and Delivery - Canberra or Melbourne location
ICT Service Operations - Canberra or Melbourne location
ICT Vendor Relationship Management - Canberra or Melbourne location
Application or Infrastructure Delivery and Support - Canberra or Melbourne location

You will:

provide leadership in the delivery of program objectives and business outcomes
engage with internal colleagues at all levels as well as external stakeholders (cross agency, vendors, international statistical agencies) to shape ABS ICT for the future
work as part of the senior leadership team to help evolve the future culture of the ABS
communicate effectively, exercise good judgement and negotiate with influence to achieve agreed outcomes
manage competing priorities and deliverables using sound management strategies across a set of projects, or a collection of business as usual activities, with a focus on efficiency, innovation and early delivery of business benefits
lead, manage and develop teams to regularly and consistently deliver practical outputs that lead to quantifiable business outcomes.

Skills and experience for specific roles include:

Cloud Applications and Analytics
technical experience and knowledge, with the ability to inform and guide architectural decisions for, and to implement cloud applications
experience with the application of innovative analytics solutions, for example, big data methods, semantic graph solutions, APIs to securely provide analytical data.

Continuous Testing, Integration and Delivery
experience and knowledge in test driven development and quality management
experience and knowledge with establishing and operating consistent and automated ways of building, packaging, integrating and testing solutions.

ICT Service Operations
knowledge and experience leading IT Service Management teams, with a focus on Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management.

ICT Vendor Relationship Management
knowledge and experience in all aspects of tendering and vendor relationship management in an ICT context.

Applications or Infrastructure Delivery and Support
knowledge and experience in Applications development and support, or infrastructure management and support, with use of contemporary approaches.
