Client is a prestigious Australian media brand based in Sydney's CBD. Due to project demands they require 2 x Senior desktop Engineers to join their existing team, initially for six months but with excellent prospect of extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate assigned desktop projects and deliver tasks in accordance with both project and business requirements and dependencies; manage own work load to achieve results to
    agreed standards and within agreed time frames; provide regular and/or ad-hoc reports of progress as required.
  • Deliver assigned projects relating to the clients Technology's desktop infrastructure under the direction of the Network and Desktop Team Leader or more senior network staff.
    Specifically, this will involve:
    Working with architects and senior development staff to create solution designs.
    Development and implementation of desktop solutions to meet the changing needs of the client.
    Provision of second level support for desktop infrastructure prior to handover to support groups.
  • Ensure that all project work is implemented in compliance with the relevant TA&D policies, including architectural and security standards.
  • Assist other members of the team, less experienced staff and staff from other infrastructure disciplines on desktops related issues relating to projects.
  • Actively promote the client values and apply all relevant workplace policies and guidelines.
  • Present deliverables' in line with clients documentation standards and practices, and documentation templates provided, with specific reference to technical specifications and system documentation; ensure deliverables conform within the client's quality processes and guidelines. As part of implementation processes, ensure appropriate reviews are undertaken by both peer and key stakeholder groups.
  • All staff are required to cooperate with any reasonable instruction, procedure or policy relating to safety, and take reasonable care for their own safety and that of other persons who may be affected by their conduct while at work.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in a computing related field eg Bachelor IT or Elec Eng, and/or relevant vendor certifications eg MCSE, MCSA, CCT, CCA and/or relevant industry experience.
  • At least 3-5 years experience in the design, development, implementation, management and support of desktops-based infrastructure solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience on the following will be highly regarded:
    Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, ADFS
    SOE/Imaging technologies, Desktop Management System and PC hardware troubleshooting
    Desktop Management Tool like SCCM, Altiris and Casper
    Windows 7 & 10 and Mac Operating System
    Mobile Devices Management System, preferably Intune
    Software Packaging Tools like Admin Studio, SCCM
    Scripting such as VBScript and PowerShell
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; familiarity with ITIL and standard project management methodologies along with time tracking and project reporting
    environments will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to independently manage your own work load to agreed priorities and timelines across multiple projects and some exposure to mentoring and coaching less experienced technical
  • An understanding of and commitment to the clients aims, values and workplace policies.
