Data Analyst - Based in Bermuda (Contract/Full Time)

Location: Bermuda Rate: £112k per annum
 
Data Analyst - Two-Year FTC paying up to $117,000 Per Annum
Based in Bermuda

Our client is seeking the services of a skilled and capable individual to work as a Data Analyst in the Supervision (Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing) and Conduct Regulation Department for a two-year contract.
Reporting to an Assistant Director, the candidate is responsible for maintaining and developing data analytics models to assist in identifying AML/ATF risks and trends, conducting deep data analysis and supporting the needs of the Supervisory Team. Collaborating with IT and Supervisory Teams, you will enhance data visualisation, enhance all AML/ATF risk assessments and continuously innovate to improve our AML/ATF program.

key responsibilities:
  • Maintaining, developing and delivering analytical reports to inform the evaluation and/or risk impact identification and reports for AML/ATF
  • Providing data-driven guidance and advice to AML/ATF staff and to other relevant stakeholders, as applicable
  • Undertaking projects to improve AML/ATF risk assessments at both the sectorial and entity level
  • Performing in-depth risk analysis of AML/ATF-regulated financial institutions, as required
  • Assisting in the design and/or modification of the Authority's AML/ATF regulatory templates (ie, annual returns)
  • Designing and developing end-to-end Business Intelligence (BI) Data models and solutions with a strong emphasis on Self Service and the use of impactful visualisations
  • Developing visual reports, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) scorecards, dashboards, informative reports and alternative impactful visualisations
  • Providing senior-level subject matter expertise and advice, as required, including taking the lead in designing and delivering training sessions and demonstrations to staff
  • Performing other related work and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post
Experience needed:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline such as computer science, mathematics, statistics or related field from a recognised institution or professional body
  • A minimum of five (5) years of related experience, including at least three (3) years in data analytics and BI development, including working with databases and data warehouses and the end-to-end data analytics pipeline
  • Expert knowledge of how to implement Self-Service and hands-on experience with the platform and best practises
  • Proven experience in problem-solving and implementation of solutions
  • The ability to think analytically and apply it to translate data into informative reports and visuals
  • Machine learning concepts for data analytics
  • Highly analytical, have a passion for data analysis and developing analytical tools for presenting findings in a visually compelling way
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and Dataverse
  • Strong knowledge Azure and Office 365
  • Basic statistics and statistical techniques
  • Ability to communicate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
