The School of Continuing Studies (SCS) is a large and complex revenue-generating education enterprise designed to provide English language instruction and continuing professional education programs to students in the GTA, nationally and internationally. The School serves the diverse needs of international students seeking to obtain language and post-secondary education to excel in Canada. It also serves domestic students seeking to upgrade their professional education, change careers or obtain a Canadian education or credential. It is expected to generate revenue for York University and to generate a funnel of undergraduate as well as graduate students for York University in order to meet the enrolment targets. The School has two main divisions: (a) the English Language Institute (YUELI), and (b) Continuing Professional Education (CPE) programs. Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations & Administration, the Manager of Information Technology is responsible for the development, maintenance and implementation of the IT Strategy and the resulting project portfolio, including enterprise architectural, data management, information privacy and security, and integrations and workflows. The incumbent is a key driver for digital innovation across the School and works collaboratively with business units to foster a client focused culture of excellence, inclusion and continuous improvement. As well the incumbent will be expected to research and plan the next generation learning and support systems for the School to ensure an innovative approach to the School's IT landscape. Responsible for developing and safeguarding the School's Internet, data security and web presence/activities.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

University degree in a relevant discipline is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

With 7 years of experience leading Information Technology Services in complex organizations, specifically must include enterprise architecture planning and digital transformation leadership. Experience in educational institutions preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of contract management, procurement practices and negotiation strategies. Demonstrated knowledge of IT governance, risk management, policy development and implementation and regulatory/legal issues.

Expert level knowledge and extensive experience in Microsoft products (including Dynamics), web server administration & virtualization, application virtualization, document management systems, development methodologies, cloud services and data warehouses. Demonstrated knowledge of: MS Access, Excel, SQL Server, MySQL, ASP, JavaScript, HTML, XML, PHP, Oracle, Moodle, Linux, Application Programming Interfaces. Sound knowledge of information privacy and security, including PCI-DSS compliance, data classifications, authentication and authorization management and cyber security. A proven track record of effective human resources management and development in a unionized environment.

*Compensation:

Beginning with the May 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021 performance cycle, York University employees in salary grades D through J are eligible for a performance dependent annual Merit Incentive Award as part of total compensation.
