Job Description

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our Information Technology team as Senior Business Analyst/Project Manager. The successful individual will work closely with senior leadership, management and various stakeholders to translate business requirements into IT solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with senior leadership, management and various stakeholders to understand and document their business needs and requirements
  • Work closely with technical subject matter experts to understand and document high level solution design and systems security requirements
  • Develop and document cost, time and resource estimates of business process and solution options and propose recommendations
  • Participate in working groups, both at corporate and mine sites as needed, to define and document needs, solution options and recommendations
  • Lead the development of key initiative documentation such as business cases and briefing notes
  • Responsible for managing and developing applicable test strategies and plans
  • Responsible for data migration plan and execution on assigned projects
  • Responsible for creating and executing communication plans
  • Work collaboratively with other project groups to ensure optimal integration
  • Develop knowledge transfer materials as required
  • Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned deadlines
  • Develop realistic work breakdown structure and project schedule, and obtain commitment from all resources doing the work
  • Perform day-to-day tracking, reporting and facilitating for all project activities outlined in the project plan, to ensure all tasks are completed by the agreed due date.
  • Accountable to facilitate identification of risks and mitigation strategies, to ensure risks are assessed and have owner/approach defined for planned mitigation strategies
  • Ensure management awareness of high impact/priority issues; escalate as appropriate
  • Hold regular project team meetings; weekly progress walkthroughs and detailed plans for the coming weeks
  • Manage on-going project schedule, track actuals versus planned, update schedule on the weekly basis
  • Develop resolution plans where actuals deviate from planned dates
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to the project team and coordinate various activities among IT resources and external vendors
  • Provide weekly project status report that reflects progress on tasks, issues/risks that require management attention and planned activities for the next period
  • Develop appropriate presentations for various audiences, especially project steering committee
  • Comply with Kinross IT PMO Processes and other applicable Guidelines, Standards and Procedure
  • Provide Operational support to Business Applications

Education and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems and/or Project Management
  • PMP or CBAP designations is an asset

Experience

  • 7- 10 years of business analysis/project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in performing analysis and documenting business processes, business requirements, and system requirements
  • Experience creating data migration and test strategy and plans
  • Demonstrated experience working with various stakeholder groups including executives, business users and IT technical subject matter experts and vendors
  • Demonstrated track record of project delivery and deep experience in all phases of the project management lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience in budget/cost management, schedule management, risk and issue management, change management, stakeholder and communication management and project monitoring and control activities
  • Experience working on projects or programs with significant inter-dependencies
  • Experience in RFI/RFP process
  • Knowledge of SharePoint applications
  • Knowledge of workflow applications
  • Knowledge of Business analytics & BI tools

Skills

  • Highly motivated, passionate, persuasive, and capable of quickly establishing credibility in launching and managing projects
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English Language
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • A team player with the ability to coordinate multiple competing priorities within strict timelines

There is potential for travel up to 20%
