*NOTE: Full time hours of work shall provide six (6) shifts of 11.625 hrs duration and one (1) shift of 7.75 hrs duration in each bi-weekly period.

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Program Team Manager and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital (SBGH), the CLINICAL RESOURCE NURSE (CRN) is responsible for providing clinical expertise to nurses. The CRN assumes a leadership role in coordinating patient care within the health care team, ensuring quality patient care outcomes, and promoting an interprofessional patient centered approach to care based on best practice.

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years Intensive Care Nursing Nursing experience required.
  • Charge Nurse experience required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Bachelor of Nursing preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Post basic Critical Care Nursing Program required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations eg Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Advanced BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration is required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, experience, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority.
  • Current reference(s) may be required upon request.

The term position is a "maternity or parental leave of absence term" which may expire sooner than indicated, subject to minimum notice of two (2) weeks or one pay period, whichever is longer
