Contract Length: 6 months initially
We are currently working with a very interesting not-for-profit financial organisation who are looking for a Technical Project Manager to manage the upgrade of a 300-seat Windows/Office environment to on-prem Windows 10 and Office 2019. There is also a need to co-ordinate various IT infrastructure projects as a part of this upgrade, working closely with a Microsoft Partner. Beyond the 6 months, there is a likely follow-on contract to migrate to Microsoft's 365 Azure Cloud environment.
The role requires a well-organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated person who can demonstrate a strong track record in similar IT Windows/Office upgrades project management roles. A minimum of 10 years' experience in project managing relevant projects is required.
Essential attributes are as follows:
- The ability to speak at least some basic French as this role is onsite in central Paris, France
- To have a very good knowledge of the Microsoft Windows/Office technical environment
- Windows upgrade project management experience
- MS Office upgrade (on-prem) project management experience.
- Office 365 upgrade project management experience
- Hardware refresh coordination experience
- Servers and licensing experience
- Organising user desktop audits
- Planning and overseeing acceptance testing
- Dealing with senior stakeholders, suppliers and technical staff
- Excel experience, and preferably some understanding of Office macros
- Ensuring good quality project delivery
- Relevant qualifications would be advantageous eg ITIL, Prince, Microsoft certifications
Responsibilities:
- To lead and manage the project team and to ensure that schedules are met
- To take ownership of strategic issues, update project files, anticipate and manage risks, lead the steering committee, support contributors and ensure smooth communications
- To promote the implementation of good practices
- To report on a weekly basis on the progress of the project
- To coordinate the creation of all documentation related to the project
Presentation of a success story relating to similar project(s) will be required.
To succeed in this role you will have excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills as well as experience of working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. It is essential you are a self-starter, with the ability to work with minimal supervision. As this contract is based in Paris, you must be willing to be onsite from Monday to Friday each week.
