The Role
This is an opportunity for a Security Engineer to engage in implementing and designing security solutions in accordance with defined standards and processes. Along with completing tasks within the agreed timeframes, the Security Engineer may be asked to analyse and construct a migration plan around the clients requirements.

As the Security Engineer you should:

  • Have a sound understanding of Security products (eg Firewalls, Proxy Solutions, Next Generations) as well as become a Subject Matter Expert in at least two technologies and vendor solutions.
  • Work virtually in a team and expect to work on multiple projects simultaneously, including attending on-site secure locations.
  • Maintain a good reputation as a Security Engineer that delivers quality expertise to the business.
  • Assist in solution implementation and fault diagnostics.
  • Relative certifications should be kept up to date, this includes attending BT product and technology seminars and briefings.
As the Security Engineer you must:

  • Be an expert in the following: F5, Palo Alto, Bluecoat Proxy, VPN.
  • LAN/WAN/Security Experience up to CCNP Level.
  • Practical working understanding of security technologies with a track record of implementing and deploying network security solutions.
  • Expertise with Proxies (Bluecoat), Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), Email Security, WSA, Checkpoint, Juniper (Pulse Secure)
  • Early project support and implement security designs.
  • Excellent presentation and written skills to document designs and solutions to the respective stakeholders.
  • Strong service skills to foster good relationships with customers and maintain relationships with those at the most senior of levels, internally and externally.
