About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Warfare Role Player (CBSTI/FWT).

Babcock operates an outsourced contract for the provision of education and training services to the Royal Navy. The training services comprise Naval technical and tactical training and education, delivered by Babcock instructors as well as training support (eg training planning, equipment support, routine maintenance and training design).

The main requirement of this Term-Time-Only (TTO) role is to consistently deliver high quality practical, simulator-based training delivery support to Royal Navy and International students through the mediums of the Classroom-Based Simulation Trainer - International (CBST-I) and Fleet-Work Trainer (FWT) as scheduled to assigned courses.

There is an enduring need to be ready to multi-skill and work flexibly across roles and tasking within the Warfare Department, as commensurate with brought in skills, and/or as augmented by internal training.

The main place of work will be HMS Collingwood; however some travel may be required between FOAP(T) delivery sites within the UK on a temporary basis.

Your main tasks will be to deliver a flexible and multi-skilled maritime warfare oriented capability in simulated environments; covering roles developed from brought-in skills (predominantly Ex-RN) and/or others developed from appropriate internal training.

You will Interface with and control training equipment to facilitate the progress of students under instruction (FWT/CBSTi)

What do I need to do the role?

You'll should be IT-Literate (ECDL advantageous) - MS Office at least Word and PPT.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Prior RN warfare/communications experience advantageous.
  • CBST-I: Knowledge of military sensors, weapons and RN warfare communications procedures.
  • FWT: Knowledge of RN tactical voice procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of manipulating simulation software and simulated communications systems to scripted and unscripted scenarios and prompts.

What else do I need to know?

  • This is a term time only role
  • You should hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance.
