About The Online Trade & Customer growth team

The Online Trade and Customer Growth team is part of the Online Revenue and Strategy function. The team is responsible for setting the agenda to deliver profitable and sustainable customer growth, across our online businesses. The team will partner across multiple business functions to support the delivery of this strategy.

Main Responsibilities

The Role - Online Trade Optimisation and Customer Growth manager

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role's key responsibilities and measures:
. Optimise and create opportunities to improve channel level trading performance across all of our online businesses
. Create and own channel specific objectives for major seasonal events, ensured they are optimised to best support the online business strategy.
. Lead cross functional work teams, to manage the end-to-end delivery of major seasonal events, ensuring we plan seasonal events in a customer centric and joined up manner across GHS, F&F and GMO businesses
. Develop and stand over consistent, single performance reviews for trade events across all online businesses
. Play a key role in the weekly online trading meetings, reviewing trade performance and understanding key drivers and opportunities
. Shape the weekly Online Customer Planning meeting, to ensure visibility of key trading priorities across the online businesses, and a key cross-business trading decisions can be made by the leadership team
. Identify opportunities to deliver tactical or strategic trading or business improvement projects to deliver material sales and profit upsides to the online business
. Oversee the delivery and execution of online trading improvement projects, working with business partners across the estate (Commercial, Customer, Fulfilment)
. Work with trading managers in Commercial and other business functions, to improve the understanding of the end-to-end online profitability model, sharing relevant data and insights to help shape their prioritisation
. Oversee the delivery of a robust test and learn programme, to constantly improve the performance of all activity, developing growth frameworks and applying industry best practice.
. Liaise with product owners to develop future product capability and tools required to support online customer growth
. Support the delivery of broader online trading and customer growth plans
. Support the creation and delivery of customer acquisition and retention strategies to improve customer profitability online
. This role will best suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team, is well organised, pragmatic and a lateral thinker with an inquisitive mind who is motivated to make change for the better and most importantly, puts our customers first.

Ideal Candidate

Key Skills and Experience

You'll need to have demonstrated experience of:
. At least 3 years + of online trading, optimisation and/or seasonal events experience
. A proven track record of developing strategic plans and overseeing the delivery and implementation into tangible programmes of work
. Analysis and decision making - highly analytical, comfortable interpreting complex datasets and underpinning all decision making with a data-first approach.
. Customer focused and comfortable influencing and working cross-functionally
. Excellent written communication and presentation skills, and able to influence without authority at all levels - from operational through to leadership team
. Previous experience of people management and development
. Strong understanding of commercial trading, online trading frameworks and digital marketing channels. Previous experience within this discipline is highly desirable
