A brand new opportunity to join a Bristol based software house as a Software Development Manager has arisen.

This is an established software house who have developed a line of products for a global client base, including some of the world's biggest names. They have a range of exciting new features to implement this year as well as introducing new technologies in to the business.

This is a hands on managerial role with responsibilities for line managing up to 20 staff members made up of developers and testers in an agile/scrum environment.

Overview of common technologies used:

• Java
• Spring, hibernate
• Jenkins
• CI/CD
• Junit, Cucumber
• SQL databases
• REST services
• Eclipse, Maven
• HTML/CSS, JavaScript

Responsibilities:

• Line management of team members
• Ensuring best practice in software development
• Hands on development on projects
• Set goals and objectives
• Staff appraisals
• Work closely with head of engineering
• Continuous improvement

Though this position leans more on management duties it does still involve being hands on when required so will also suit lead developers & principal developers who are looking to make the step up.

This client are based in a location of Bristol close to shopping, food places, cinemas and are commutable from all areas of Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Newport, and Gloucester.
