About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join the team.

Purpose of role: To work as a member of the Medical Education team, consisting of Specialist Teachers, Subject Teachers and Teaching Assistants

To be responsible for supporting access to learning for all learners unable to attend school for medical reasons including those with additional needs

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to have a GCSE Maths and English A - C or equivalent and evidence of further qualification in the field of SEND

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Demonstrable experience and proven good practice in supporting learners in a range of settings and phases
  • A successful track record of improved outcomes for learners with SEND and particularly CCN
  • Understands best practise regarding SEND
  • Ability to assess and respond at appropriate level to individual needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Lastly, you'll need a good understanding of other relevant and current initiatives in local, regional and national contexts and experience of implementing inclusive policies and practices, working with schools and other agencies to build awareness and capacity to respond to a wider diversity of special educational need.
