Infrastructure Migration Support (Contract)

Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire Country: UK Rate: £180-£200/Day + OUTSIDE IR35!
 

Infrastructure Migration Support Engineer (2nd Line).

Wilmslow, 5 days per week on-site

£180-200 per day (Outside IR35!)

Our Professional Services Client urgently someone with 2nd Line Support skills to assist their Head of technology Services (IT operations) with several mid-term migration projects.

Need a fast learner, diligent, high energy, well organised

Understanding of:

  • Windows
  • Microsoft Intune
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • O365, Office 365
  • Backups
  • Microsoft Azure

Ideally you will have an understanding of:

  • LANs
  • VOIP telephone systems
  • Monitoring systems

Projects you will be part of and support the existing team with:

  • Legacy migration for three windows 2008 file Servers. Majority of files are currently stored on Legacy 2008 Servers which are not supported by Microsoft. We need to migrate all files, shares, permissions, update all login scripts, run dedupe, install and config resource manager to monitor file usage, set-up Azure file shares for offsite resilience as well as configuring azure server backup. We have a Windows 2019 server ready for the migration.
  • Legacy migration Hyper-V host Servers. Decommissioning, moving VM's to new VM host, consolidation of ALB VM's to ALBVM server
  • Legacy Intune migration. There are 200 clients using the old classic Intune portal. They need to be migrated over to Intune Azure.
  • 51 out of support Windows 10 OS installations need physically upgrading to 1909, 174 Windows 10 which need attention re updates. The 174 will be tackled by the Intune migration. But ultimately Azure Intune needs attention to make sure policies are being correctly assigned.
  • VPN IP update for all mobile users. 60 days to complete before existing IP is no longer valid. This is to do with decommissioning Gamma Internet contract and replacing with BTNET.
  • iPhone and iPad kit out of date and no longer supported by Apple security updates. Hardware needs replacing, sim swap, email configured, Intune MDM installing.
  • H&S, HR consultant surface pro migration 80 units. Replace laptops and iPads with surface pro's move data to one drive accounts, sim swap, software set-up.
