Systems Engineer (Contract)

Location: Gloucestershire Country: UK Rate: £400 - £500 per Day

Systems Engineer - Contract - Gloucestershire - £400 - £500 Per Day DOE

Our client is a world leader in the research and development of cybersecurity. Our client develops secure communications devices and cryptographic equipment protecting such things as the worldwide Internet, credit card transactions, military platforms and personnel. Our Hardware Security Module, is used to help secure the Internet DNS system, and also by many other commercial organisations such as Mastercard, Apple, Google, VeriSign and Shell

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical solutions to large and complex engineering problems, following Systems Engineering processes, to ensure customer requirements are satisfied.
  • Develop Systems Engineering artefacts, as required, across the product development life cycle, to result in a positive project outcome.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and present at internal and external design reviews, to senior management and customers, to ensure a successful event.
  • Actively contribute to and/or lead defined aspects of the project to achieve optimal balance between requirements, schedule and cost.


  • A bright and inquisitive mind, who wishes to challenge the status quo, and propose new and novel solutions in order to make a difference.
  • The ability to work with customers to develop great technical solutions to their complex engineering problems, following Systems Engineering processes.
  • Capable of developing high quality Systems Engineering artefacts, as required, across the product development life cycle.
  • Knowledge and interest and/or experience of developing software or FPGA/ASIC-based Real Time Embedded processing systems.
  • Excellent general written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience in working with multiple engineering disciplines including software, FPGA, electronic/mechanical hardware.
  • Knowledge and interest and/or experience of IP Networking and associated protocols such as ARP, DHCP, SNMP, TCP, UDP etc.
  • Knowledge and interest and/or experience of cryptography, cybersecurity and information security.
  • Experience of any of DOORS, UML, SEBoK, Enterprise Architect and SysML.
