Big Data Engineer (Python/PySpark) - Financial Services - London (Contract)

Location: Central London (Nr. London Bridge) Country: UK Rate: £500-£550/Day
 

Contract - Big Data Engineer - London

Cloud Consulting are currently looking for a contract Data Engineer for a global client based in Central London. You will be working with an established data engineering team.

You will be collaborating with other teams across EMEA and the US, driving excellence in data engineering, and implementing software at a global level:

  • Designing and building platform tools including the cloud automation and services that support and enable them.
  • Taking data science prototypes and other proofs-of-concept and helping turn them into operational systems.

Daily responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing data cleaning and processing, designed by you and other data engineers working with data scientists and data analysts.
  • Improving the quality of our work, both through reviewing pull requests and directly mentoring and coaching.
  • Monitoring and resolving issues in operational systems.

Skills:

  • Python
  • Spark or similar
  • PySpark (Desirable)
  • AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
  • Apache Airflow/Google Cloud Composer
