Desktop support analyst - £40,000 per annum - London

Desktop support analyst is required to join a leading financial services firm based in London. The company are looking for a driven and dynamic Desktop support analyst to join their existing desktop support team working across 1st, 2nd and third line support. The role is predominantly windows focused and Office365 focused and they are looking for a desktop support analyst with areas in these fields. There is due to be a large migration to Windows 10 so previous migration experience would be beneficial. As a desktop support analyst you must be comfortable in a customer facing capacity and have the ability to work in a high pressured environment. Previous experience working within the finance industry would be beneficial but this could also be a great opportunity for a desktop support analyst to break into the industry for the first time. There are different shift patterns covering core hours between 6.30am-11pm so flexibility to work during this time frame is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform tasks such as installation of images, data migration, troubleshooting general office productivity applications, applying securing configurations and custom application support. Install, test and promote software and hardware components to completion.
  • Assist other IT Specialists, IT Management and users in the resolution of problems related to the correct operations of the desktop environment.
  • Escalate problems, when required, to the appropriately experienced technician.
  • Monitor and track IT assets, inventory and warranty periods of machines

Skills:

  • Experience supporting PCs running Windows Operating Systems including repairs
  • Experience diagnosing various hardware, peripherals, and software problems and PC and Mac computers
  • Strong application support experience including cloud based like AWS (beneficial) and Office 365
  • Experience working with wired and wireless network attached devices
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
