BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

We are excited to be working with a leading name in the UK courier, parcel, freight and logistics sector who are building an enviable reputation for reliability and quality of service.
Embarking on their second phase of controlled expansion and high expectations to be the very best service provider to the customer, our client is now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to play a key role discovering and developing new strategic business opportunities regionally.

Based in the North East, this role is a key appointment and will need a highly motivated senior professional with a proven track record of identifying, negotiating and converting new volume opportunities across a range of Retail, FMCG and Manufacturing sectors. Experience in a sales environment, at senior level, within the mail, courier or parcel delivery services sector is essential.
This role presents an opportunity to work with and learn from some of the best in the industry. You will work within a fast-moving and dynamic environment with a great senior leadership team who have a really strong work ethos

Reporting to the Sales Director, the ideal candidate must:-
Be results driven with a high level of business acumen
Be able to work on their own initiative with commitment and passion
Possess excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Demonstrate a successful track record of exceeding business revenue targets through nurturing and negotiating with both existing and new major accounts.
Illustrate experience of measuring and improving customer retention through professional account management, development and planning skills.
Display a positive attitude

Key responsibilities of the role include:-
Identify target list of opportunities based on clearly defined criteria that maximises return
Achieve and exceed sales targets
Deliver professional and effective tenders in response to customer opportunities.
Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the client's services and all associated features and benefits, tailoring benefits to the needs of the customer.
Track commercial performance of new and existing customers, ensuring that they trade to the SLAs
Submit accurate and timely business forecasts
