Data Engineer - London - £70,000 (Permanent)

Position: Permanent

A new and exciting opportunity for an experienced data engineer to join a major media company in London to help develop their systems further. You will work closely with the core businesses to conceive and produce innovative data applications and responsible for creating value for the group to make positive business change.

As a data engineer, you will be responsible for the development and overall delivery of their new big data analytics platform. You will also be designing, building and maintaining the big data infrastructures for internal and external senior stakeholders.

Other responsibilities:

  • Develop, build and improve ETL and data insight pipeline
  • Lead the transition of algorithms and processes smoothly and efficiently
  • Initiating, managing and conducting research projects
  • Liaising closely with internal and external senior stakeholders

Skills and requirements:

  • PhD in a quantitative field
  • Strong experience in Python/R
  • Experienced in using visualization tools and frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of the ETL process
  • Cloud technology experience such as Azure, AWS and/or GCP
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles
  • Understanding of web analytics
  • Strong knowledge of big data query tools
