About the role

Babcock LDP in Devon is seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Practitioner to join our well regarded team.

Babcock LDP delivers a wide range of inclusion and school improvement services who work collaboratively in order to improve outcomes for all children and young people.

The Safeguarding Team is commissioned to deliver local authority safeguarding responsibilities but also delivers a growing traded service to schools and Multi-Academy Trusts, wider agencies working with children and young people both within and outside Devon. The work of the team is highly rated due to the provision of good quality training, safeguarding reviews, advice, support and guidance. We are looking for someone who through teamwork can contribute to our offer in an ever changing education landscape while maintaining our high standards of delivery.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to be trained to Child Protection Level 3 or equivalent and have evidence of continuing professional development

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • A passion and vision for safeguarding children and an in-depth knowledge of child protection practice and procedures
  • Experience of working with children and families who require support
  • Has an understanding of the importance and impact of multi-agency working
  • An ability to deliver training to school leaders (including governors), Designated Safeguarding Leads and other staff groups that has a positive impact on their practice
  • A commitment to delivering a high quality service to all our customer groups and staff
  • Creative thinking skills in order to help shape and develop a traded offer which is responsive to the rapidly changing educational landscape
  • An ability to work in close partnership with colleagues from across Babcock LDP with a focus on safeguarding children and protecting the most vulnerable
  • A willingness to work occasionally out of county
  • A desire to work as part of a team of committed practitioners
