AV Systems Technician/Audio Visual Engineer - Cisco/Polycom/Skype - London

£43,000 to £48,000 plus excellent benefits package/London

A leading global financial services organisation seek an experienced AV systems engineer will be responsible for all conference room/auditorium AV solutions across the offices within EMEA. The qualified candidate must be able to manage multiple workloads/projects, automate tasks and provide innovative solutions. Superior collaboration, customer service skills and flexibility are crucial. This individual will have a diversified background of technical infrastructure and cloud services experience, excellent vendor management skills and have a superior, service-oriented approach to IT operations. The role will include, resource assignment, direct queue management, incident ticket analysis in support of end users and the global technologies organisation objectives.

Skills required for the AV Systems Technician/Audio Visual Engineer:

  • Experience managing complex AV environments, upgrades, process improvement, troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Polycom devices including Trios and Group Series, Audio and Video conferencing equipment such as Cisco SX Series, Polycom RealPresence Trio and Group Series).
  • A clear understanding of Immersive Telepresence, Desktop Telepresence, audio and video systems and their related network infrastructure. Knowledge of video wall and controller options.
  • Experience assisting end users with scheduling, setting up and running audio and video Conferences.
  • Experience with complex conferencing and event workflows, understanding the end-user needs and how our solutions can be used to meet those needs. Including Skype for Business, O365, Telepresence.
  • Level 3 technical assistance scheduling and facilitating audio and video conferences between end users/internal offices/client offices and providing basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the conferencing systems to minimize interruptions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Accountabilities for the AV Systems Technician/Audio Visual Engineer:

  • Accountable for all AV solutions deployed in associated with conference rooms and auditoriums including associated health checks and maintenance activities.
  • Assist Executive staff members and other users with Audio Visual equipment within the office Space.
  • Proactive support and problem resolution for Skype for Business.
  • A clear understanding of Immersive Telepresence, Desktop Telepresence, audio and video systems and their related network infrastructure. Knowledge of video wall and controller options.
  • Educate site services on problem resolutions to minimize repeat requests and provide timely follow-up related to AV infrastructure.
  • Contribute to, produce and maintain processes, procedures, operational and architectural documentation.
  • Change Control - Ensure compliance with processes and adherence to standards and Documentation.
  • Liaising with 3rd party suppliers whose products interface with the businesses systems.
  • Incident and Problem management as well as an escalation point.
  • Assist with the integration and strategic direction of systems with Skype for Business and unified messaging infrastructure, including working with associated teams such as network and desktop.
  • Create and update systems architecture documentation.
  • Identify and implement preventative maintenance and performance optimisation solutions to meet operational objectives.
  • Follow ITIL and Service Management Processes such as Incident, Problem and Change management processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to develop and recommend technologies to streamline the deployment of AV solutions in our environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Applicants must be able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under specific deadlines, while working in a fast-paced production environment.
