Residential Support Worker (Permanent)

Location: Sutton Coldfield Country: UK Rate: £18,278

Highbridge Resourcing are a specialist social care agency recruiting for a well-known charitable organisation based in Sutton Coldfield.

We are currently seeking a Support Worker to work with children with learning and physical disabilities on a full time basis (37 hours a week) This is a permanent opportunity that will require you to be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Care.

The service is rated GOOD by CQC and is based in Sutton Coldfield. It provides short breaks for children in a residential home environment and there is the capacity to care for up to 4 children at one time.

The role will involve shift work, however there are no sleep ins required. Weekend work will be required on a rotational basis and you will work every other weekend.

The shift patterns are 0630-10:30am and 2-10pm in order to accommodate the children when they attend school.

As a Support Worker, you will offer care and support to the children who use the service and will be responsible for their physical and mental wellbeing. You will be supporting children aged 5-19 years who have learning and/or physical disabilities whether they use the service either for day care or overnight stays. Some of the children have complex needs and require support with hoisting and personal care.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working in a residential care setting

Have the level 3 in Health and Social Care

Have excellent communication skills - written and verbal

Be prepared to work in a changing environment - this is a respite service, so changes occur frequently.

Have experience working with children with learning/physical disabilities.
Have a clean DBS or be willing to undergo one
