DevOps Platform Engineer (Permanent)

Platform Engineer

McGregor Boyall has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Platform Engineer to join a growing technology consulting organization, delivering cutting-edge solutions into both the public and private sector. This is a permanent opportunity based in their office in Birmingham.

You will work as part of project teams delivering a full range of DevOps and Platform activities including Scripting, continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD), and configuration management. You will liaise closely with the client to ascertain requirements and communicate these internally to ensure the best possible service, building lasting relationships.

Experience Required:

  • Managing complex enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Cloud experience - Azure or AWS preferred
  • Configuration management, automation and Scripting skills (Python, Ruby, Shell, Bash)
  • Automation tooling (Terraform, Puppet)
  • Automated deployment technologies (Cobbler, Puppet, Chef, TPM, Foreman etc.)
  • SCRUM, XP, DSDM, RUP
  • Continuous integration and build tools
  • Linux/Unix system administration
  • Database knowledge and SQL skills
