Delivery Manager (Permanent)

Location: Newcastle, Tyne & Wear Country: UK Rate: £45k - £55k

We are currently searching for an experienced Delivery Manager with a background in Agile to join us on our exciting high-profile digital transformation projects. 

Delivery Manager - The Role

As a Delivery Manager you will be based Full time on a client site, managing the successful delivery of a service via multidisciplinary, highly skilled digital team(s).

You will have a proven track record of delivering complex digital projects, breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.

You will be core to our business, making decisions that build and develop high performing teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects and products using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently

  • Managing the delivery of the service through a series of planned releases

  • Working with the Delivery Lead and Customer Product Owner to define the future roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories

  • Once the priority is set, ensure the work that needs to be done gets completed to quality and velocity, against the capacity and capability of the team

  • Maintain velocity of information flowing between service design and development

  • Build, manage and develop specialist digital teams

  • Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for the stage (Alpha/beta/production)

  • Working closely with client Product and Service Owners to deliver agreed upon outcomes

  • Actively participating in the Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice.

  • Removing blockers to enable the team to deliver at pace

Skills And Experience:
It's essential that you have...

  • Delivery Management/Project Management expertise

  • Evidencable experience of managing teams, performance and outcomes

  • Experience using a range of Agile methods

  • Experience of Jira, velocity and reporting

  • An understanding of the role of a Scrum Master/removing blockers through agile ceremonies

  • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity

  • Experience in delivering digital projects and products - especially through the latter stages of a project

  • Understanding of the digital landscape

  • Passion for building, managing and developing multi-disciplinary digital teams

  • An activist approach to challenging ways of working

Desirable

  • Previous experience in the public sector with GDS assessments

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + comprehensive benefits package + performance related bonus
