Your new organisation specialise in the health of women and their babies - both within the hospital and out in the community. Collectively their team represents some of the most outstanding expertise and experience in this field. And, as the only such specialist trust in the UK - and the largest women's hospital of its kind - we are dedicated to your care and well-being.

Your new role
The post holder will be responsible for the leadership and coordination of the Trust's infrastructure, applications, communications, and IT Security, including the management, support and development of the Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation. Trust's ("the Trust") on-site centralised computing services and network. These systems are integral to the smooth operation of the Trust in both clinical and nonclinicall areas. The post holder will also manage the provision of network and technical support for the Trust's computer equipment, including management of all staff within the IT services team.

The overall strategy and management of the Windows Active Directory domain.

  • Monitoring of performance and capacity planning for the Trust's Servers.
  • Managing the support and maintenance of computer equipment and peripherals associated with the IT infrastructure.
  • Enhancement and support of the Trust's existing Network services ensuring high availability is maintained.
  • Implementing and developing secure, modern centralised management of clients and Servers through the use of policies and management solutions.
  • The development of controls in accordance with audit recommendations and good practise guidelines.
  • The development and preparation of documentation, policies, and procedures and to support management in effecting the same.
  • The provision of advice, training and support to end-users in the use of any IT systems
  • To be familiar with the Trust's approved standard set of software and to keep abreast of developments within the IT industry and the NHS in particular at a national and local level.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrable leadership skills managing internal teams, 3rd party partners and suppliers.
  • The ability to communicate both in writing and verbally with staff at all levels
  • The ability to influence Senior Management and recommend ways forward for the development and enhancement of the Trust's Computing services
  • The ability to train users at all levels
  • The ability to manage own workload and time, including prioritisation of tasks.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to identify known problems and apply appropriate solutions
  • Educated to degree level and 5 years of experience and expertise in IM&T management
  • Microsoft Certified System
  • Engineer qualification and
  • 2 years relevant experience
  • ITIL Foundation
  • ITIL Intermediate qualifications
  • Educated to Masters degree level
  • Fully conversant with Client Server infrastructure; cloud based infrastructure and services; automation, Scripting,
